Jason Fresh may have written the Great American Album. It took us eight hours to record it and a year to release it.

We had a lot of big plans for it because the sound is better than the first two albums because we knew what we were doing sort of but now the plans are gone and the album is just here naked and honest.

It sounds like America.

Jason wrote one song a week for a year and these are the first ones. He saw a documentary about Jonestown and thought it was a pretty scary thing to happen to normal people.

We still didn't know what we were doing but we thought we did.

This album has been called weird, inaccessible, experimental, and other hurtful things that are probably also true. But we really meant all that stuff we said on it.

It gets really quiet and then way too loud and back and forth.

08 My Ordinary Self
09 Wild
10 When The Coast is Clear

We recorded these songs in my living room in Kapolei with one microphone and a practice amp on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in 2009.

Jason wrote three of the songs before driving to my apartment or during the recording. We ate only pizza, Cocoa Puffs, and beer.

Neither of us really knew what we were doing.

It was a good Christmas.
